What is salt bridging, and do you fix it?

Salt bridging occurs when the salt in your brine tank hardens—often due to moisture or humidity—and forms a solid layer or “bridge.” While the salt underneath may still dissolve, the bridge can make the tank appear full, preventing additional salt from being added.

When the bridge is broken, the salt above falls into the empty space below. During delivery, we check for salt bridging and break it up if needed to keep your system working properly.

No. Pellet focuses on water softener salt delivery and does not provide installation or repair services. During each visit, we check your system settings to ensure everything is operating properly. We also inspect for salt bridging and break it up if needed to keep your system running efficiently.
